Our History,

The Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu history is a merge between Saulo and Xande’s path thru Jiu-Jitsu.

They created a method that is the blend of the root Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and the modern sport  Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu:

The Brothers blend the code of conduct of the ancient Martial Arts with the creativity and evolvement of the sport today, we keep our roots and fundamentals and still,  connected with the needs of today’s evolution.

The Ribeiro system has been well proved thru the years during the World Championships, keeping a strong base but still effective to overcome the opponents.  In the first phase we have Saulo, that during so many years, stood in the top of  the chain, being one of the greatest of all times. When was thought that his times were over, his brother Alexandre was responsible to take the Ribeiro flag, and been too a well accomplished fighter,  resulting in multiple world titles on his division and two world absolute titles.  The Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu is yet, can be seeing in other form of sport, the Submission Fighting, in this form, the Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu kept his standards and accomplish several world titles in the ADCC world championships. Together the brothers has over 12 world titles among federations that rule BJJ and Submission Fighting.

But not only from accomplishments the Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu is formed, the well structure Family orientation, make the Brothers a example and Senseis that carry the flag of Jiu-Jitsu around the world, thru seminars and workshops, or simply by having the feedback from  students all over.

Based on that the Ribeiro Brothers found the UNIVERSITY OF JIU-JITSU, that is an institution of ground work techniques and development. Bringing to the modern times, old standards that has been forgotten by several schools.

With this background, the Ribeiro pass on the truly meaning and understanding of JIU-JITSU, as a art , sport, a fitness option or simply a way of life.  For us, the lifestyle would be the way of the gentle.  With this we bring to the modern society aspect of human relationships such as Loyalty, Honor, Discipline, Attitude , Respect and Humility, all of those are reached by our students by the way of the Jiu-Jitsu, making them better students, fighter or simply a better human.
